ASH Comprehensive Approach
Develop a pre-exercise plan with our clients for testing facility/site plans, command procedures, rescue/recovery responsibilities. We analyze this information with the client to provide a professionally developed, coordinated and evaluated exercise. HST completes this project by generating a detailed exercise report, including recommendations and corrective actions for assisting your organizations incident management structure.
ASH Exercise Planning Team (EPT)
Our EPT works extensively with our client in the design, development and conduct of the exercise. The EPT and client work to identify exercise scope, objectives and goals of the exercise. Once specific objectives are in place, an Initial Planning Conference (IPC) is scheduled between ASH and client.

ASH Emergency Preparedness Exercise Programs
At ASH, our drills and exercises are designed and implemented to enhance the preparedness of small and large corporations and governmental agencies to effectively assist in the prevention, response to and recover phases of potential incidents. Our services include:
Table Top Exercise Format (TTEX)
We provide multiple methods for conducting TTEX’s. These exercises are intended to encourage discussion of specific issues regarding a hypothetical situation. This methods include utilizing plans, policies, and procedures, or test necessary systems to guide the prevention, response to, and recovery from a defined event. A TTEX is generally intended to identify strengths and shortfalls and to develop an understanding of response concepts The TTEX incorporates discussions, problem solving, and decision-making participation.
Functional Drills (FD)
Functional drill are designed to test and evaluate individual capabilities or activities within a select function. FD’s are designed as a coordinated activity implemented to test a single specific operation or function. These drills provide specific focus, and instant feedback in a realistic environment. Drills are effective for maintaining current skills, training on new equipment, or testing policies, plans and procedures typically conducted using a scenario based format.
Full Scale Exercises (FSE)
ASH emergency preparedness group has conducted over 65 full-scale exercises. Our unique approach has provided our clients a high quality professional exercises for for industry and governmental agencies.
A FSE is the large-scale response, which depending on your organizations exercise objectives may involve multiple agencies at the local, regional, state and federal levels. This involves testing a major portion of your crisis management organization. These exercises generally include actual movement of personnel, and mobilization of resources for demonstrating coordination and response capabilities. Depending on your organizational structure, any Management Response Teams, EOC’s, or Field Command Posts are activated.
An FSE provides your organization a documented exercise manual as part of the After Action Report. Attributes for this type of exercise include:
- Assessing organizational and individual performance
- Evaluate interagency cooperation
- Allocating resources and personnel
- Assessing equipment capabilities
- Activating on/off site personnel and equipment
- Evaluate public information systems
